What are we working on now?

Philippines

philippines Poverty is most severe and most widespread in rural areas of the Philippines. Agriculture is the primary and often only source of income for poor rural people, most of whom depend on subsistence farming and fishing for their livelihoods. In general, illiteracy, unemployment and the incidence of poverty are higher among indigenous peoples and people living in the upland areas. The GVN Foundation has been working in the Philippines for more than three years through our partner organization.

Our partner organization in the Philippines is a local grassroots organization that seeks to help Filipino communities better their quality of life. They are based in Quezon City and work both in the marginalized communities of the capital Metro Manila and in Romblon, one of the Philippines’ poorest provinces. They support a number of different projects, with a particular focus on promoting education.
