Ethiopia

Since 2007, Ethiopia has achieved strong economic growth, making it one of the highest performing economies in sub-Saharan Africa. Yet it remains one of the world’s poorest countries with about 29 per cent of the population lives below the national poverty line. The GVN Foundation has been working in Ethiopia for the past three years to assist one of the most vulnerable groups - street children.

Our partner in Ethiopia is a non-profit organization founded by a diverse group of Ethiopian youth working to provide support to the underprivileged in urban and rural Ethiopia. They run a center called Mercy Home which rehabilitates street children with the ultimate goal of reuniting them with their families.
