Ecuador

Ecuador, located on the northwestern coast of South America, is a biodiversity hotspot, with one of the greatest densities of unique species in the world. There is great potential for Ecuadorians to benefit from this diversity but their environments are threatened by social, economic, political, and external pressures. The GVN Foundation has been working in Ecuador for the past three years to support a local partner organization focused on environmental conservation and education in Ecuador.

Our partner organization in Ecuador is an NGO with over 25 years experience working in Ecuador. They work with a number of different reserves to assist with a range of projects such as reforestation, habitat reconstruction, and agroforestry activities utilizing native species. Their ultimate goal is to preserve the natural regions and the forests of local communities to achieve sustainable development.
