Colin Salisbury Chairman of the Board
As the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Volunteer Network Colin Salisbury has an intimate understanding of our programs needs. He has extensive development experience both locally and internationally with time spent in Ecuador, Ghana, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines and Thailand. His background in Community Development and achieving a Masters Degree in International Development has enabled him to not only launch the extremely successful Global Volunteer Network but also co-found The GVN Foundation. Colin brings extensive management, business, and development experience to the Foundation. We are ecstatic that he is the leader of our Board of Directors.
Barbara Courtney Secretary of the Board
Barbara Courtney is committed to assisting those in need and has raised thousands of dollars in donations to end poverty and educate children. With a Master's Degree in maternal/child health Barbara understands the physical repercussions of poverty and malnutrition. For the past 25 years she has owned and operated several extremely successful retail businesses in a seasonal resort community. Barbara brings enthusiasm for The GVN Foundation's mission and a high degree of business acumen.
Courtney Montague Board Director
Courtney Co-Founded GVN Foundation and Eat So They Can and is dedicated to seeing GVN Foundation grow into a major agent of change in the international development community. Courtney’s favorite GVN Foundation event is Eat So They Can because she believes that it is much more than a fundraiser- it is a way to engage the global community in discussions about child poverty and a way to encourage communities around the world to help end extreme poverty.
Courtney is also the GVN Foundation representative to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Courtney recently completed a Masters in Public Administration at New York University and is a fellow in the Catherine B. Reynolds Program in Social Entrepreneurship. Courtney loves to eat… write, read, hike, relax with friends and family and watch movies.
Tina Houchin Treasurer of the Board
Tina Houchin has over 22 years experience in the auto manufacturing industry with Honda of America Mfg., Inc. She is currently the Business Planning and Communications Leader for the Marysville (OH) Auto Plant. Her additional experience in Leadership Development, Project & Event Planning, along with 12 years as a legal secretary will bring a well rounded viewpoint to the GVN Foundation Board. With a passion for international travel and a will to be involved in initiatives to improve the lives of children of the world, she began volunteering internationally in 2007. Her first experience with GVN was in 2009 when she participated in “Be The Change” in Taupo, New Zealand. Since that time she has hosted an “Eat So They Can” event and recently returned from the 2011 ESTC Distribution Trip to Kenya, Africa. Tina likes to remain active golfing, playing volleyball, relaxing on Norris Lake and spending time with her two grandchildren.
Eliza Raymond Executive Director
Eliza Raymond has ten years of experience studying, volunteering and working in the field of international development. Eliza’s Masters Degree focused on good practice in international volunteer programs, and involved researching a variety of different volunteer programs in South America, Africa and Australasia. Following her studies, Eliza ran GVN’s volunteer programs in Peru for two years where she also helped administer their partner’s humanitarian projects budget. She then returned to New Zealand where she has been working for the GVN Foundation for two years as their Grants Coordinator. Eliza is British/French by nationality but calls Motueka (New Zealand) home. When not in the GVN office, Eliza is riding her bike, volunteering, lost, or planning her next trip.
